Every project is different, but most of our work falls into a handful of recurring patterns. Here is how our clients use Layer One Staging Solutions to solve real logistics problems.
An MSP wins a 40-location retail network refresh. Equipment ships from the distributor to our facility. We receive and inventory every device, stage and configure switches and APs per the client's runbook, kit each site's equipment into labeled boxes, and ship to each location on the installation schedule. The MSP's project manager tracks every device and shipment in real time through their portal. Their engineers arrive on site to find equipment that is already configured and ready to rack.
A regional health system is deploying 600 new clinical workstations across 12 facilities. The workstations arrive at our facility on pallets from the OEM. We image each workstation, apply asset tags, kit by facility, and ship on a staggered schedule aligned with the health system's go-live dates. Every device has a complete chain-of-custody record from receiving through delivery.
A K–12 district is deploying 3,000 Chromebooks before the start of the school year. Devices arrive in bulk. We enroll each Chromebook in the district's Google Admin console, apply asset labels, sort by school and grade level, and pack into labeled crates for delivery to each campus. The district's IT coordinator tracks progress in the portal and can see exactly how many devices are staged, packed, and shipped at any time.
A fast-growing MSP has more staging work than their internal team can handle. They use Layer One as a flex staging resource — sending overflow projects to our facility when their bench is full. We integrate with their ticketing and documentation systems and deliver staged equipment on their timeline. Their clients never know the difference.
A prime contractor wins a state government IT contract that includes hardware procurement and delivery. They subcontract the staging and logistics to Layer One. We receive equipment from the approved vendors, stage and document per the contract requirements, and deliver to the government facility with the chain-of-custody documentation the contracting officer requires.
A technology reseller wants to offer staged and configured equipment to their clients but does not have a staging facility. They partner with Layer One as a white-label staging partner. Equipment ships from their distributor to our facility. We stage and kit per the reseller's specifications and ship directly to the end client. The reseller's clients receive a professional, documented staging service without the reseller needing to invest in facility or headcount.
A client has a critical network failure and needs replacement equipment staged and shipped overnight. We receive the replacement hardware, perform the necessary configuration, and hand it to a courier for next-day delivery. The client's portal is updated in real time so they know exactly when equipment shipped and when to expect it.
An enterprise client has a multi-year hardware refresh program. They purchase equipment in bulk to lock in pricing and store it at our facility. We manage the inventory, stage and ship equipment as deployment windows open, and provide monthly inventory reports. The client's capital is deployed efficiently without needing to manage their own warehouse.
